SMYRNA, Ga. -- A 44-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with an attempted bank robbery in Smyrna on April 30.
Meldoshia Winn was taken into custody Tuesday.
Smyrna Police spokesman Capt. Tony Leonard said Winn is accused of trying to rob a Bank of America on South Cobb Drive. Witnesses told police that Winn entered the bank, presented a demand note and showed the teller a gun. When the teller set off a silent alarm and left her window to tell bank management about the robbery, Winn reportedly ran away.
Detectives sent the demand note to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, where crime lab technicians matched fingerprints on the note to Winn, Leonard said.
Winn was arrested in Lithia Springs and processed through the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. She faces charges of robbery, aggravated assault and firearm possession.
