5 E. coli cases discovered in metro Atlanta | News

ATLANTA -- The Georgia Department of Public Health is working with the CDC to investigate a cluster of E. coli infections.
These cases were tested at the Georgia Public Health Laboratory, which was able to confirm the infections.
Georgia currently has five cases -- two in Cobb and one each in Cherokee, Coweta and Forsyth counties.
Four of the five cases are female; their ages range from 18 to 52.
All got sick between April 15 and April 28 of this year. One person was hospitalized overnight for this illness.
Health officials have detected no food items or environmental exposures associated with the illnesses.
