Fortis College students complain of supply shortage | News
SMYRNA, Ga. – Students in the welding program at Fortis College in Smyrna are complaining that they don't have the supplies to learn.
Students sent 11Alive a number of emails saying that they haven't had the supplies for six weeks.
The school told 11Alive that the shortage of supplies occurred due to miscommunication. Officials said the supplies have been ordered and are currently at the school. They say while supplies were low, they only ran out of steel plates.
The President of Fortis College's Smyrna campus said, "To ensure a positive student learning experience, - now that supplies are fully replenished, - the College is scheduling make up time for all students. It is our practice to work with our students whenever they need extra practice time to master their skills."
